New Service to Vilnius (Lithuania)

Shannon Airport has welcomed the news that FlyLAL, Lithuanian Airlines will begin a twice-weekly service from Shannon to Vilnius as part of their winter flight schedule for 2006/2007.

This route is the airport’s first scheduled service to Lithuania and adds to the growing number of destinations in new EU accession states now being serviced from Shannon.
 
This service will facilitate growth in trade, business and tourism links with the West of Ireland and will also enable the large Lithuanian communities currently residing in the region the opportunity to travel home on a more frequent basis at low prices.

FlyLAL currently operates direct scheduled flights from Vilnius to 28 destinations. Their Shannon service will begin on November 24th and will operate on Mondays and Fridays using B737-500 aircraft.
