Ryanair Starts New Route Shannon - Berlin
Seats from €10 from Shannon to celebrate.
Ryanair, Europe’s largest low fares airline, today (28th May) launched a new route from Shannon to Berlin (Schonefeld). Ryanair will carry over 2m passengers on 30 routes to/from Shannon this year, sustaining 2000 regional jobs.
Speaking today, Ryanair’s Bridget Dowling said:
“Ryanair is getting the Irish summer off to a flying start with our new low-fare German route. 2 million passengers are set to travel to/from Shannon with Ryanair this year, saving over €100 million compared to Aer Lingus’ high fares. Aer Lingus simply can’t compete with Ryanair’s low fares, punctuality or our no fuel surcharge ever guarantee, which is why Ryanair now serves double the number of routes from Ireland to Europe.
“To celebrate, Ryanair is giving away seats from €10 one-way on routes from Shannon, and passengers should book their flights to Manchester, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Tenerife and many more destinations immediately on www.ryanair.com, because demand for our hot summer offers continues to be huge.”
Shannon Airport Director, Martin Moroney added: “Ryanair’s continuing development of its Shannon base is very important for the Airport and the Region. We are particularly pleased with the commencement of a Shannon- Berlin service. While expanding the range of destinations from Shannon Airport, it will facilitate visits by our customers to Germany’s revitalised capital, as well as enabling the development of strong tourist traffic for the West of Ireland.”
Shannon Development’s John King says “The new route between Berlin and Shannon is very welcome. It strengthens the connectivity at Shannon and opens up a new tourism market for us. We are pleased to take the opportunity, once again, to work with Ryanair and other tourism partners in exploiting this new service into Shannon”.
