Continental Airlines Increases Business at Shannon
Shannon Airport is preparing to handle a second daily Shannon - Newark service from Continental Airlines beginning on Thursday 4th May. This service will provide an extra 25,000 seats annually and will provide a major boost to tourism and business activity in the region.
Commenting on the new service Martin Moroney, Director, Shannon Airport said “this is a significant development for Continental Airlines and Shannon Airport. Our 8-year partnership has played a major role in the development of business and tourism in the West of Ireland. At a time when concerns are being expressed regarding changes to the Ireland/U.S. Air Services Agreement, this announcement provides reassurance of Shannon Airport’s future in the transatlantic aviation market.” He added “We are delighted with the success of Continental Airlines operation in Shannon, their extensive network allows Shannon passengers the possibility of travelling to over 150 US destinations through their hub in Newark. We look forward to working with their Irish team in developing their business from Shannon”.
