Shannon Airport Wins “Best Irish Airport” Award

Shannon International Airport has for the second year in a row scooped the Chamber of Commerce of Ireland’s (CCI) Best Irish Airport of the Year Award 2006 at a ceremony in Dublin yesterday 25th April hosted by the Chamber’s Air Transport Users Council (ATUC).

Commenting on the award Martin Moroney, said, “ I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of everyone at Shannon Airport whose hard work and dedication have ensured that we achieved this great honour for the second consecutive year”.

This award is one of nine awards presented by the ATUC on an annual basis to airports and airlines operating in the Irish market. Awards are made based on the results of a survey of senior executives in 400 companies nationwide carried out by MORI Ireland on behalf of the ATUC.

Minister for State at the Department of Transport Mr. Pat The Cope Gallagher T.D. presented the award to Martin Moroney, Director of Shannon Airport at the ceremony.
