Shannon welcomes new Aer Lingus Regional Services.
Shannon Airport is today (1st July) celebrating the addition of new UK
routes to its network of airline services. Aer Lingus Regional is commencing 4
new services today to key UK destinations of Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and
Bristol.
Speaking at the launch of the new services, Director of Shannon
Airport, Martin Moroney said “We are delighted to welcome Aer Lingus Regional to
Shannon. The establishment of sustainable air-services is our key priority and
we believe that with Aer Lingus Regional we now have an ideal solution for
developing our route network over the coming years. These services will provide
vital connectivity for both the business and tourism sectors in the west of
Ireland and I am sure that all of these new destinations will prove extremely
popular with the travelling public”. He added, “We look forward to working with
Aer Lingus Regional in the coming months in ensuring these routes a resounding
success”.
In welcoming the new services, Mr. Brian O’Connell, Chairman of
the Shannon Airport Authority said that the four new Aer Lingus Regional
Services represented great new business potential between the four new
destinations and Shannon. “It is incumbent on all the stakeholders participating
in this excellent new departure to work closely together now, to plan and
strategise market growth and to build strong business links between our joint
destinations”, he said.
